Cheap pressurized boiler handhelds ($50–150) build pressure inside a sealed boiler, then bleed it out through the nozzle as it depressurizes. Pressure spikes at the start, crashes at minute 8–10, then sputters wet droplets. We didn't build a smaller boiler. We built a flash heater.

Water enters the heating chamber on demand. Dual-PWM holds it at 230°F / 110°C with PID feedback (±2–4°F / ±1–2°C). Result: the steam coming out of the nozzle on minute 25 is the same as minute 5 — same temperature, same dry steam, no surges, no sputtering.

A few things worth knowing.

Use distilled or purified water only
Tap water contains minerals (calcium, magnesium) that build up in the heating chamber and cause scale, blockage, overheating, and permanent damage. Distilled water costs less than $1/gallon at any grocery store and extends the life of your unit by 3–5×. Damage from tap-water use is the most common warranty void in this category.
Don't operate dry
The unit must always have water in the tank during operation. Running it dry damages the heating element. The 3-layer safety stack (child lock + low-water alarm + smart water sensing) auto-shuts off before this happens. Don't override it. When you hear the alarm, stop, refill, restart.
First-second condensation is normal physics
After idle time, the first 1–2 seconds of vapor on restart may include water droplets — This is physics, not a defect. Steam in the hose cools and condenses. Point the nozzle into a sink for 2 seconds before cleaning after a long break.
Surfaces to avoid
Avoid: unsealed hardwood, wax-treated finishes, unsealed grout, velvet/silk, cardboard, paper-based wallcoverings, peeling paint. Always spot-test a hidden area first if unsure.
